Helen Frankenthaler

American painter and printmaker, Helen Frankenthaler (1928-) became the leader of the Color Field painters in New York City in the 1950's under the influence of Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. Frankenthaler's work is a transition from Abstract Expressionism.
